Policies

The safety and comfort of our guests is our number one priority. To ensure transparency, we’ve established
a guide for best practices and our policies below. These policies are subject to change.

  • We request payment in full for all one-night stays and a 50% lodging deposit when booking two or more nights. There is a two-night minimum requirement from Memorial Day to Columbus Day, and a three-night minimum requirement during all holidays.

    *Reservations made through third-party websites, such as – Booking.com and Expedia will be charged a 100% at time of booking.

  • Cancellations 15 or more days prior to arrival will receive 100% refund of advance deposit.

    Cancellations with less than a 15-day notice are non-refundable of advance deposit.

    Cancellations within 48-hours prior to arrival are non-refundable of advance deposit AND will be charged their remaining balance due.

    No shows will be charged the entire amount of the reserved stay.

    Any reservation made on a third-party website must be canceled through the third-party website, and you are bound to their cancellation policies.

  • Check-in time is 3pm. Early arrivals will be accommodated when possible. If you anticipate a late arrival, please notify us as soon as possible to make arrangements.

    *Photo ID and Credit Card Required.

  • Check-out time is 11am. Please notify your innkeeper if you plan to check-out early or will need your luggage stored. We will do our best to accommodate any late check-out requests, but they cannot be guaranteed. Associated fee of $50.

  • Served daily between 8am and 10am. If these hours are not convenient, please notify your innkeeper as soon as possible.

  • Out of respect for your privacy; we will not enter your room during your stay if your “privacy please” sign is out. Otherwise, we will enter rooms daily to freshen linens and other amenities.

  • The Ocean Bay House is most suitable for children over the age of 14. Please contact the innkeeper regarding younger children.

  • We love animals, but are unable to accommodate them. Let us know if this is a problem, and we can refer a local boarder.

  • The hours between 11:00pm and 7:00am are ‘quiet hours’ so that we can all get our beauty rest. We ask that if you wish to watch television or listen to music during these hours, you keep the volume low.

  • Please contact the innkeeper for details, fees, and booking requirements.

  • We offer complimentary on-site parking. If you’re planning on bringing a vehicle that exceeds standard parking space; length or width, please check with us beforehand so that we can see we have a space for your vehicle.

    Leave your car at home and visit us using the Long Island Rail Road. We are located just 1 mile from the Bay Shore Train Station, and would be more than happy to arrange transportation to and from the inn.

  • Smoking of any kind is not permitted in guest rooms or indoor common areas. We ask that you stand outside and remain 25 feet away from the home. Smoking anything, including; e-cigarettes, vapes or marijuana in a designated non-smoking area is subject to a cleaning fee of $500.
